We are a research firm that works to improve the design, usability and acceptance of all types of information resources, including Web and intranet sites.
Since 1998, we have provided a full range of research and evaluation services to information-intensive companies. Read about some of our findings that still have us talking.
We are located in Sonoma, a small city north of San Francisco known for its premium wines and historic mission.
Focus
What unifies our staff is a passion for creating information resources that accommodate users' needs, their various skill levels, and their work environments.
Our training matches our viewpoint. We have graduate degrees with an emphasis on information-seeking behavior, Human-Computer Interaction, information retrieval, and interpersonal communication.
The firm's founder, Alison J. Head, has a Ph.D. from U.C. Berkeley's School of Library and Information Studies. She also studied Human-Computer Interaction as a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University.
She is the lead author of On-the-Job Research: How Usable Are Corporate Research Intranets? and the author of Design Wise - now in its second printing.
She regularly writes about usability and the design of information resources.
